Services are entrusted to Braund Pope Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the New Madison United Methodist Church. Family and Friends may visit Thursday, Jfrom 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM, also at the church. A meal will be held at the New Madison United Methodist church following the burial. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Jefferson, OH. In addition, she is survived by 23 nieces and nephews.Ī Celebration of life service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, Jat the United Methodist Church in New Madison with Pastor Carol Duffield officiating. They include grandson Derek Flatter and his wife Mandy along with their children Landon, Ella, Amelia and Hudson of Arcanum, grandson Aaron Flatter and his wife Pam of New Madison, grandson Jeremy and his wife Tabitha along with their children Delaney and Taylor of Indianapolis and Emily (Riegle) Kelley and her husband Jon along with their son Oliver William of Columbus. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She worked at Ketrings Locker Service for 20 years.Īlong with her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Connie Flatter also of New Madison as well as by her brother Harold Kelch and wife Mary, brother Homer Kelch and wife Myra, brother Raymond Kelch and wife Naomi, sister Marcella (Kelch) Stiefel and husband Ralph, sister Joan (Kelch) Hafer and husband Frank, brother-in-law Robert Rupe, sister in law Charlene Kelch, mother and father-in-law Glen and Grace (Hittle) Riegle, brother-in-law Gene Cox, nephew Jay Rupe and nephew Terry Kelch.īetty is survived by her husband of 65 years Bill, son Larry and wife Lisa of New Madison, her sister Margie (Kelch) Rupe of New Philadelphia, her brother Bob Kelch of Eaton, sister-in-law Patty (Riegle) Cox of Tipp City, brother and sister- in-law George and Janice Riegle of Greenville and son-in-law Tom Flatter of New Madison. She has been a faithful member of the New Madison United Methodist Church.īetty enjoyed caring for her husband, family and many friends as well as cooking, gardening, playing cards, and reading. They have resided over 58 years on their farm outside of New Madison where they raised two children. The couple was then married later that year on December 3rd. In June of 1950, she met the love of her life William (Bill) Riegle of New Madison at a local square dance. She was a 1947 graduate of Versailles High School. ![]() Growing up in Willowdell with her seven siblings, she was a member of the Lutheran Church and attended elementary school locally. She was born June 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Arthur and Merle (Banks) Kelch of Willowdell. ![]() The day of her death Kate had posted a tribute to Chance for Father’s Day, sharing an image of him holding Eliza in the hospital on the day she was born.Betty June Riegle, age 86, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, June 20, 2016. Eliza was a beautiful little girl and she’ll always be with you.’Īnother noted that Eliza leaves ‘such a beautiful legacy’, adding: ‘She inspired millions. ‘Sending you so much love and support, I am once again so sorry this happened.
